Samson Siasia Denies Nigeria U-23 Job Offer

Siasia has denied being approached by the Nigeria
Football Federation (NFF) to take charge of the
country's Under-23 side.

Siasia was sacked as head coach of the Super Eagles in 2011 by the NFF after he failed to steer the side to the 2012 Afcon in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea but he has been touted to make a return to the national set-up to take charge of the under-23s.

The gaffer, who guided Nigeria's Under-23 side to a runner-up place at the football event of the 2008 Olympics in China, has now denied being approached by the federation to take up the post.

"No one from the NFF has approached me to take charge of the national Under-23 team," Siasia revealed. Siasia, a former international with 16 goals in 51 appearances for the Super Eagles, said he will not turn down the offer if he is officially approached and the "offer is right."

"Of course everyone knows I will always honour the call to serve my country. I will accept the chance to coach the team if the offer is right but like I mentioned earlier, no one has approached me yet," he said.

I feel he should be given the job cos he deserves it. He might not be able to handle the senior player but they should give him the younger ones
