Sharks FC Have Problems

Chief coach of Sharks FC, Daboere Dokubo has admitted that there are "distractions and problems" within the club.

The Blue Angels have picked up a miserly four points from a possible 15 and are ensconced in the bottom four of the 2012/13 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) log.

It has been a calamitous start to the season for Sharks. Augustine Eguavoen stepped down as technical adviser of the club after missing the club's first two games against Warri Wolves and Kaduna United.

Eguavoen eventually resigned via a text message on Thursday as Sharks shaped up for their Matchday 4 NPFL game against Gombe United at the Pantami Stadium, Gombe.

The former Super Eagles coach cited failure of the management of Sharks to hand him a contract as the reasons for his decision to quit.

Sharks drew 0-0 against city rivals, Dolphins at the Sharks FC Stadium on Sunday on Matchday 5 of the NPFL and Dokubo has now lifted on a tumultuous month at the club.

"There are problems and distractions at Sharks. There are a lot of things that need to be sorted out administratively," he said.

Gomo Onduku, Bright Ejike and Okiemute Odah are just a handful of the many experienced stars that left the club last season but Dokubo insists inexperience has not been the bane of the side this season.

"I don't agree that inexperience is the problem of the team. We usually play very well away from home but badly at home.

"There are several reasons for this but we will sort them out," he explained.
