The role: Responsible for the efficient, safe and reliable operations of the plant and plant equipments and ensure optimal performance in line with predefined operating parameters.

Functions:

•   Direct and coordinate the operations of the plant and auxiliary equipments in line with industry, environmental and other set standards

•   Ensure safe,  reliable,  efficient and optimal operations of the plant and plant equipments

•   Support the maintenance team by keeping records of equipment usage and operating hours; generate repair requests; inspect and undertake post-maintenance testing of equipments

•   Implement safe work practices and ensure adherence to safety standards at the power plant

•   Keep operating parameters within prescribed limits and take appropriate preventive and corrective measures

•   Prepare daily, weekly, monthly and other periodic reports as required

•   Analyze plant operating problems and take necessary steps to restore normal operations

•   Supervise and guide subordinate staff

Requirements:

•   Minimum of a 1st degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

•   Minimum of 5 years experience in power plants or similar operation
