A member of Imo State Executive Council, Chief Steve Ahaneku, has resigned, citing his quest to acquire more academic laurels as his reason for quitting Chief Rochas Okorocha's cabinet.
.
Careful political watchers in the state saw it coming, especially as Ahaneku remained for a while without portfolio after Okorocha reshuffled his cabinet recently.
.
Apart from this development, the fiery lawyer was again written by government, reducing his office from that of a Commissioner to Special Adviser on Business Development without reason.
.
Another school of thought had it that Ahaneku's exit from Okorocha's cabinet may not be unconnected with his personal relationship with the impeached deputy governor, Sir Jude Agbaso.
.
When contacted, Chief Ahaneku confirmed his resignation from the State Executive Council, adding that he equally handed in his resignation letter to Governor Rochas Okorocha in his official residence.
