Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini says his side "deserved" their 2-1 Premier League victory over rivals Manchester United.

After a goalless first half, City took the lead through James Milner in the second before a Vincent Kompany own-goal brought United level. But Sergio Aguero's late strike ensured all three points for the reigning champions.

But, with City 12 points behind league leaders United, Mancini admits that the best the club can finish is second.
