Martins Tells Sounders His Best Is Yet To Come

Super Eagles striker, Obafemi Martins, has unequivocally declared to fans of his new Major League Soccer club that his best is yet to come after scoring his first goal for Seattle Sounders at the weekend which earned his side their first win of the campaign.

The Nigeria international scored from a rebound after Colorado goalkeeper Clint Irwin saved a shot from Shalrie Joseph. The former Newcastle forward also declared that he will be in great shape in the coming weeks.

"The goal has settled nerves now and my fans should expect more from me."

"A lot is being expected from me and I'm ready to repay the faith the club have in me," he enthused.

Martins also assured the club's fans they would see more of his backflips celebration.

''For my Sounders family that wanted to see the backflip, hope y'all enjoyed it...had to be careful with the knee... Love u all and thanks.'',he wrote on his twitter handle.

He had earlier thanked the fans and his teammates.

Meanwhile, Sounders will not play another regular season match until May 4 against Philadelphia Union at PPL Park.
