At Last, Gusau withdraws from PDP Presidential Race

FORMER National Security Adviser (NSA), Gen. Aliyu Mohammed Gusau (rtd) Saturday formally withdrew from the 2011 presidential contest of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Gusau in a letter dated January 7, 2011 and addressed to the National Chairman of the party, Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo said this has become necessary because of his support for the consensus candidate of the North, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

In his letter which reads in part, he said: "I write to formally notify the National Chairman and members of the National Working Committee of our great party that I am withdrawing from the PDP presidential primaries for the 2011 election.
