Job Title: Statistician-General

Location: Ibadan, Nigeria

Organisation: Oyo State Civil Service

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates with good background in statistics, conversant with information management and proven managerial ability for the post of Statistician-General in the Oyo State Civil Service.

Description:

Successful applicant shall be:

•   The coordinator of the State Bureau of Statistics

•   A full member of and act as the Secretary to the Board.

•   Responsible to the Board for the administration and management of funds and property of the Bureau.

Qualifications and Skills:

•   Candidates must possess a good honours degree in any of the disciplines of Statistics. Mathematics, or Social Science with at least a Post Graduate Diploma in Statistics from a recognized University.

•   A Postgraduate degree in relevant field shall be an added advantage.

•   Candidates must have had at least twenty (20) years post qualification experience in a statistical system of Public Service.

Responsibilities:

Successful applicant shall also be responsible for:

•   Embodying the status, image, integrity and professionalism of the Bureau.

•   Presenting to the Board for approval budgets and audited accounts of the Bureau.

•   Performing any such other functions and duties as maybe assigned by the Board.

•   Organizing, developing, supporting and promoting the organization culture at the Bureau.

•   Supervision and discipline of the staff of the Bureau.

•   Advising stakeholder in the state statistical system on matters relating to statistics.

•   Presenting to the Board for approval annual work programmes, human resources development programme and any other programmes to develop national statistics.
