Job Title: Senior Structural Engineer

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Employer: Sea Trucks Group (STG)

Reports to:

•   Engineering Manager (functional);

•   Project Manager (project related).

Directs: Structural Engineers, Trainees and Draughtsmen involved in structural calculations and drafting.

Responsible for:

•   Timely completion of all engineering deliverables assigned within the Project;

•   Ensure that contractual specifications, codes and standards are followed in project execution in accordance with contractual, legislative, regulatory, company and commercial requirements;

•   Inputs into methods for fabrication, transportation, construction and installation;

•   Ensure that technical concepts and methods are in accordance with common industrial standard practice;

•   Responsible for all Structural design work in a given project;

•   Engineering support during execution phase of the project (fabrication, offshore);

•   Adherence to Company Management System (CMS) as applicable;

•   Proposing, stimulating and realising optimisation and improvements in the area of responsibility.

Authorised to:

•   Review of applicable engineering deliverables;

•   Review all calculations and analysis performed by Structural Engineers and Trainees;

Education and Training:

•   Bachelor Degree in Civil/Structural engineering or relevant engineering discipline;

•   Relevant offshore training;

•   Strong engineering design experience;

•   Relevant software training.

Experience: Minimum of 10 years experience in offshore engineering, of which at least 7 years in engineering design.

Knowledge & Skills:

•   Conversant with the use of AutoCAD software;

•   Ability to generate MTO from structural Drawings;

•   Good knowledge of design codes, standards and specifications;

•   Practical and theoretical knowledge of offshore transportation, installation and construction techniques;

•   Good knowledge of Design/ Calculation software and analysis tool;

•   Good knowledge of Company Management System (CMS) ensuring compliance to quality, health, safety, environment and security (QHSES) requirements;

•   Good knowledge of the English language both written and spoken;

•   Ability to work in a team and to co-ordinate activities;

•   Ability to proactively plan for potential problems scenarios (preparation of back-up plans);

•   Ability to interpret engineering drawings;

•   Good theoretical knowledge of structural analysis.
