Court of Appeal complex commissioned in Ibadan.

                        The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Aloma Maryam Mukhtar has commended the Federal Government over the release of funds, for the completion of the state of the arts Court of Appeal complex, Ibadan.

Justice Aloma Mukhhtar made the commendation at the official commissioning of the new Court of Appeal complex situated at the New Adeoyo Road, Ring Road, Ibadan.

The first female Chief Justice of Nigeria said with the commissioning of the new Federal Court of Appeal complex, the people would now have easy access to justice through a better court equipped with modern facilities which consequently will aid the judiciary to perform its constitutional and adjudicative role in a rapidly changing environment in a manner which commands the respect and confidence of the society.

Justice Aloma Mukhtar stressed the need for court rooms to be well equipped.  She said this is imperative as it would enable the judiciary to perform its expected constitutional roles with all sense of adequacy.

In her speech, the Acting President, Court of Appeal, Hon. Justice Zainba A. Bulkachuwa (OFR) commended past and present distinguished Senators and Honourable members of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly and members of the two committees on the judiciary for appropriating sufficient funds for the completion of the project.

Governor Abiola Ajimobi in his short speech pledged the support of his administration to the judiciary at all times.

The office complex is made up of a sub-base construction, comprising of the library, main court entrance, lobby plus offices.  The ground floor construction consists of offices, archives, main store and litigation department while the first floor consists of the press gallery, office and meeting rooms.

The second floor consists of PJ's Chamber, Justice Chambers, Deputy Chief Registrar's office with other offices.

If the federal government can release more funds for things like this, things would definately be better in this country.
