Plateau State government to sustain peace.

coat-of-arms                        The Plateau State Government has expresses its determination to sustain the peace currently attained in the state.

The State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Pastor Yiljap Abraham stated this recently at the end of the State Security Council meeting which was presided over by the State's Deputy Governor, Mr. Ignatius Longjan at the Governor's Lodge and office, Jishe, Jos.

According to the Commissioner, the Security Council observed that the current peace being enjoyed in the State was as a result of the huge money the State government was investing in security as well the efforts of men of the Special Task Force; he challenged them to main the tempo.

In addition, the commissioner expressed appreciation to the people of Plateau, especially stakeholders in the Northern and Southern zones of the State in peace building, he explained that efforts of the royal fathers as well as the community leaders who at the instance of Plateau State, resolved to come together and negotiate peace which the result, was being witnessed presently with farmers going to their farm without any attack while herdsmen could be seen grazing peacefully alongside farmers.

Finally, Pastor Yiljap enjoined political actors to take up the challenge in peace building in their various communities; because according to him, "The government could not do it alone".
