Nigerian athletes return to golden league action today in Benin City, after another lack luster performance at the Port Harcourt leg of the meet last weekend.

World standard performances are still hard to come by in the golden league bankrolled by Solid Works Limited as the athletes continue their slow build up to the year.

Though in Port Harcourt the athletes had to come against strong winds, however, there wasn't enough adrenaline rushing on the path of the athletes and watching spectators.

"At this time of the year we still have our athletes struggling with their form. This is far from what we expected of them, they really need to buckle up since there are competitions provided for them now," said former technical director of the AFN Brown Ebewele.
