The Nation: Eight feared dead in Lagos rival clash of social miscreants

No fewer than eight persons died and over 30 others injured in a clash between rival groups of social miscreants in Akala and Idi-Oro, Mushin, Lagos.

It was gathered that vehicles and other valuables worth millions of naira were destroyed in the weekend skirmish.

Though the Police said the situation was under control, it was gathered that the fight, which started on Friday, continued till yesterday.

Most of the residents have fled the neighbourhood for fear of reprisal attacks.

As at the time of this report last night, the cause of the crisis could not be ascertained.
