GLO X FACTOR: A REALLY GOOD IDEA

The Glo X Factor audition at Port Harcourt was full of glamour and very talented singers and rappers. One of them was an undergraduate of Office and Information Management, Rivers State University of Science and Technology. We had an interesting moment with him in an interview behind the scene and we would like you to be part of the fun as you read along.

 

Please can we meet you?

I am Precious Emmanuel, I live right here in Port Harcourt.

 

How did you get to know about the X Factor?

My friend told me about it.

 

Do you belong to any musical group or band?

Yes.

 

What's the name of the group?

Star Voices.

 

You've been going progressively from one phase to the other. What has been the secret or is it that you have a particular song or trick you are using?

It's no trick or any song in particular; I think it is the grace of God. I do my work and I leave the rest to God and I believe He has done it already.

 

24 million naira, it's a huge amount right?

Yes, it's so much.

 

What's your plan over 24 million naira if eventually you become the winner?

Yea... firstly, my music career and also, I would want to affect people's life by giving back to the society.

 

Presently, I guess you are a student?

Yes I am.

 

Of which school?

Rivers State University of Science and Technology.

 

Course?

Office and Information Management.

 

(Laughs) If 24 million naira comes your way, what will happen to your studies?

(Frankly) Of course, school continues. I won't because of the N24 million drop school. It's so interesting to hear that a musician is a BSc or MSc holder. Instead of N24 million to stop me from schooling it will rather make me continue schooling.

 

So, are you saying no amount of money can make you stop school?

No amount of money can make me stop school.

 

What would you say about Glo for bringing the X Factor show?

Ok, it's really a good idea from Glo and I commend them for that. There are lots of talents that are going to benefit from this show. It's not all about winning the money but a better person that you will become after going through all the training and exercise in the house if you eventually get there. The way you are now is not going to be the same way you will be when you later get to the house... You must have learnt some things.

 

This stage you are now is just a little fragment of the whole show, if you are eventually contacted that you've been certified for the next phase. How would you feel?

I will really feel so happy
