tn2                        The Minister of Information, Mr Labaran Maku, has urged Nigerians to have confidence in the Transformation Agenda of the present administration which he said, is yielding significant dividends in the various key sectors of the economy and urged Nigerians to be confident in change and in government's transformation efforts.

The Minister made the call at the commencement of the second phase of the Ministerial Platform and sectoral presentations of the achievements of President Goodluck's Mid Term scorecard kick started by the Ministries of Works and that of Transport.

Mr. Maku expressed delight at the significant strides made in the key sectors, particularly in the road and rail sectors by both Ministries; and commended the Ministry of Works for the delivery of 32 roads across the country.

The Information Minister especially commended the Transport Ministry for dredging the inland waterways of the Niger, making it navigable up to Baro in Niger State. This, he said was left at conception stage since the Tafawa Balewa administration in 1960.

The Minister advised Nigerians to follow government programs, ask questions and make assessment on the visible projects achieved by the government, adding that the present administration has brought tangible changes to the transport sector beginning from zero per cent.

He compared Nigeria's experience in the transport sector with those of some nation states such as India, China and America which progressed by their dependence on rail transportation, noting that over-dependence on the roads by Nigerians contributed a lot to the breakdown of the roads.

The Minister expressed the determination of government to involve the private sector and foreign investors in the area of rail construction and called on citizens to have confident in the President Goodluck Jonathan's administration as he is bent on matching his words with action.
