EdwinClark1A meeting of the South- South PDP Leaders, elders and stakeholders chaired by Chief Edwin Clark has appealed to politicians from other parts of the country not to disrupt the peace of the nation by insisting that President Goodluck Jonathan will not be allowed to run for a second term. Addressing leaders and elders of the party from the South-South before going into a closed door session Clark says it is not the birthright of any geopolitical zone to provide perpetual leadership for the country as all Nigerians are equal stakeholders in the Nigerian project. Chief Clark decried the alleged ambition of Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers state to use the platform of the Nigeria Governors Forum to canvas for the position of Vice President in 2015 saying the South South zone is more than prepared to support President Jonathan for a second term come 2015. The meeting which is being attended by serving and former legislators, elders and other stakeholders is expected to take a position on the re-election bid of President Jonathan and the controversy surrounding the chairmanship election of the Nigeria Governors Forum.
