AIG Tasked Over Delta Murder Case

A law company, V.E. Otomiewo & Co, based in Ekpan, Delta State, petitioned the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Zone 5, asking it to take over the investigation of a murder case involving one Mr. Uruere Joseph Uwaye now in the custody of the Warri Area Police Command Delta State following his arrest over an alleged murder of one Mr. Michael Otomiewo in 2008.

The law company called for a thorough investigation of the matter. The petitioner is also asking, in the alternative, to join the suspect in the case already pending in the High Court of Delta State. Te murder took place on Saturday, 12 April.

While calling on the AIG to intervene in the matter, the petition added that Chief V.E Otomiewo, a member of the family of the deceased had made useful statements about the case, supported by documents. When contracted, Area Commander Warri ACP Hussein Rabiu confirmed the arrest, disclosing that the suspect was in custody as the case was being handled in Zone 5 Benin, Edo State.
