Job Description:

• Collaborate with Project SSH&E team to ensure alignment of sub-project strategies / plans.

• Ensure stewardship/reporting of SSH&E performance indicators for Project & Corporate requirements

• Interface with the SSH&E functional group as necessary to support project activities and identify/implement best practices and lessons learned

• Facilitate the site Safety / SSH&E Leadership Team.

• Serve as site Security Contact.

• Lead the development of Environmental project execution planning for sub-project(s).

• Work in partnership with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor's management and Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) organizations to create and implement the sub-project and site safety, health, and environmental programs. Verify implementation.

• Coach and facilitate implementation of systematic Safety processes to assure compliance with the Project Safety Management System (PSMS) requirements. Includes direct leadership / support for key COMPANY requirements such as Safety Leadership Workshops, Job Safety Analyses (JSA), Observation / Intervention processes, ergonomics, office safety, etc.

• Advise Contractor of MPN's Safety and Environmental requirements, expectations, and best practices. Communicate and coordinate guidelines for MPN safety awareness, recognition, and incentive programs.

• Guide / support Contractor to assure implementation of Project Site Safety, Health, and Environmental Plans and appropriate compliance monitoring.

• Monitor and support the activities of the Contractor's Project SSH&E organization.

• Organize and coordinate the site safety and environmental training programs.

• Provide support for risk assessments and studies as defined in the Project's Safety Plan and Environmental Management Plan. Ensure results are addressed as relevant field work is executed.

• Collect, analyze, and report data on leading indicators, safety and environmental performance and safety and environmental initiatives to project leadership team, working with Contractor and admin support staff.

• Facilitate regular Safety and Environmental inspections and assessments at the various project sites in accordance with established MPN processes or as requested by project management. Develop site safety and environmental assessment schedule, conduct site safety and environmental assessments and assist Project Management in responding to project assessments.

• Ensure effective SSH&E communications across the Project Team, Contractors, SSH&E Management Support and other key stakeholders.

• Organize and participate in investigation and follow-up of incidents, including development of remedial action plans. Provide root cause analysis expertise to support these efforts and review reports.

• Share SSH&E-related Lessons Learned between sites and outside organizations.

• Develop Safety / Health / Emergency Preparedness and Response / Environmental related aspects of the sub-project team training plan and lead / support implementation.

• Facilitate coordination / oversight for training, drills, etc., that are related to Emergency Preparedness and Response.

• Function as the interface between Medicine and Occupational Health (MOH) and the Project Team.

• Support implementation of Malaria Control Program and other vector borne diseases.

• Guide / Mentor contractor's safety and environmental personnel in support of Site Safety Advisors and Site Environmental Monitors.

• Monitor, investigate, identify and resolve project Safety and Environmental issues, evaluate metrics, and provide reports to responsible line management, Senior Project Management and Function, as required.

• Work with Project Management Team on implementing a Management of Change process for SSH&E-related documents and deliverables.

• May be assigned other duties by the SSH&E Function or Project Team.

Job Requirements:

• University degree in Engineering or the Sciences and technical certification (e.g., CSP, PE, NEBOSH)

• Broad technical and SSH&E skills with working knowledge of project management and operations

• 25+ years broad-based experience, with prior experience in SSH&E-related disciplines

• Thorough knowledge of Safety standards, codes, and practices.

• Strong, dynamic leadership skills.

• Maintains a high degree of ethical conduct.

• Must be able to effectively communicate / influence multiple levels, from Senior Level Manager to Worker.

• Ability to work in harsh environments, and / or stressful situations, with changing priorities.

• Willingness to travel / live away from home for extended time periods.

• Proficient in primary Microsoft Office programs, Lotus Notes, etc.

• Proven management and leadership skills

• Knowledge of COMAPNY strategies and key business drivers

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; persuasive with strong business perspective

• Adaptable to changing priorities
