As  drama, talent and dreams unfold on the Glo X-Factor auditions, 28 year old Ekiti State indigene, Niniola Apata, who witnessed the assassination of her father in 1995 has received the first standing ovation from the X-Factor Judges.

Performing at the Lagos audition broadcast on television stations across Ghana and Nigeria as Episode Five over the weekend, the trio of Onyeka Onwenu, MI and Reggie Rockstone confessed that they had never witnessed anything like the superlative performance of Niniola since the show started five weeks ago and they were effusive in their praises.

Regional Director Marketing Communications, Charles Jenarius at the

screening of the new TVC 'Move to Greener Pastures"

MI described the performance of Niniola who sang "To love you more" as unbelievable adding " I can't believe the notes you are hitting!" while Onyeka confessed having "goose pimples all over me. Oh my goodness, there is talent in this place!".

Another contestant who got three yeses from the judges was 25 year old Nnani Akah who sang 'One naira', a song made popular by MI. He was very impressive with his melodious voice and wonderful adlibbing on the importance of money.

He disclosed that if he won the tournament, he would spend the twenty four million naira prize money to complete a block of classroom which he started constructing with his resources as a Youth Corper in Dogunahawa village in Plateau State.

The performance of 49 year old trained broadcaster, Princess Pat Mohie who thrilled the judges with a rendition of Chaka Khan's 'Ain't

nobody' was simply inspiring and was described by the elegant stallion, Onyeka Onwenu as "sassy".

Music Teacher, Darlington Timothy who brought four of his students to the show got some music lessons from the judges who advised him to cut down on his theatrics and give the listeners the benefit of his beautiful voice.

For 20 year old Anne George who had spent her last eighteen years at the Living Saint Orphanage, her appearing on the X-Factor stage is a ray of hope for all orphans in the world that there is no limit to what they can achieve.

Her rendition of "Russian Roulette" did not impress Onyeka Onwenu who challenged her to convince her that she had what it takes in the next round as the other two judges passed her on.

The Group 'Tone Fanatics' got a raw deal from the judges who reduced the six man team to four before giving them the nod for the next

stage. For instance Onyeka described the Group as so boring it was unbelievable and advised them to up their performance if they would go far in the singing reality television show.

Over five thousand contestants in three categories of Under 23 year olds, over 23 years old and Groups are jostling for the twenty four

million naira star prize and a Sony music contract.
