As part of the Governor Abiola Ajimobi-led administration's efforts to provide adequate security in all the nooks and crannies of Oyo State, a unit of the Joint State Security Outfit codenamed `Operation Burst' has been inaugurated in the Ogbomoso axis of the State.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony which took place at the Ogbomoso South Local Government headquarters, Arowomole, the Commander of the squad, Brig.-Gen. Laz Ilo said that the setting up of the security outfit in Ogbomoso was in further demonstration of government's zero tolerance for crime and criminal activities in the State.

"Our officers and men were deployed to Ogbomoso to wage total war against crime and criminal activities,'' Gen. Ilo said, urging residents to cooperate with members of the squad by providing useful information and intelligent report to the squad.

The Commander said further that the outfit was not put in place for political reasons and that it would not meddle in the political affairs of the State.

Gen. Ilo and his team had earlier paid homage to the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Oladunni Oyewumi, Ajagungbade III in his palace where he assured the royal father that the prevailing peace and security in Ibadan, the state capital and Ibarapa zone would be replicated in Ogbomosoland.

Responding, Oba Ajagungbade praised Governor Ajimobi for his efforts at ensuring the security of lives and property in all the nooks and crannies of the State.

Some residents of Ogbomoso, who spoke at the inauguration of the outfit, commended the Ajimobi administration for the move which they said would keep criminals at bay in the axis.
