Job Title: Senior Manager, Policy and Strategic Studies

Job summary: The Senior Manager will provide well researched information that would drive the Commission's strategy. The job holder will report to the Deputy General Manager Policy and Strategic Studies

Key Responsibilities:

1.   Carries out detailed review of government policies and the analysis of their impact on the electricity industry

2.   Develops new policies and regulatory instruments for industry improvement

3.   Monitors and analyses of performance of industry participants and existing regulations, and makes necessary recommendations thereof

4.   Develops detailed action plan for implementing energy efficiency  policies and regulation

Person Specification:

Required Knowledge and Skills:

1.   Ability to liaise with relevant Agencies and the Utility Companies

2.   Should have a fair knowledge of the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry

3.   Comfortable with engaging key decision-makers in policy discussion

4.   Interpersonal and Influencing skills

5.   Excellent interpersonal skills and ability work effectively in a politically sensitive environment.

6.   Ability to forge effective working relationships at senior levels both internally and externally (including the media) to influence key stakeholders

7.   Strong analytical skills

8.   Experience in developing related regulations and policies

9.   Must be good in Microsoft office packages, such as Word, Excel and Power Point

10.   Excellent communication skills, both verbal and writing in English

Educational / Professional Qualification(s):

1.   A University degree in Energy Economics, Engineering or related discipline

2.   A Master's degree or professional qualification will be an advantage

Work Experience: Minimum of 12 years relevant post qualification experience.
