Chelsea Agree Terms With Cavani

Chelsea have stolen a march ahead of a number of top clubs in Europe to sign Napoli forward Edison Cavani in agreeing personal terms with the Uruguayan, according to Sky Italia reporter Tancredi Palmeri.

Both Real Madrid and Manchester City have been linked with the 26-year-old. However, the 54m valuation of the player has not been met and only City have made a bid for the highly regarded frontman, Napoli's president Aurelio De Laurentiis revealed recently.

But Palmeri revealed Chelsea have been in serious talks with the player.

He posted on Twitter: "There are reports of Chelsea having found an agreement with Cavani over personal terms, pending an agreement with Napoli.

"Checking my sources, from my side I can confirm that Chelsea had many talks with Cavani entourage in the very last days."

Cavani isn't playing well enough for Uruguay at the moment in the Confederations Cup but I just hope he steps up his game.
