Our client: Adexen Recruitment Agency is mandated by a leading international ship building, repair and marine services company operating in the offshore Oil & Gas industry to recruit an expatriate Repair Manager.

Responsibilities:

•   Manage, supervise, lead and direct the various repair teams ensuring optimum efficiency of resources, plants and processes.

•   Ensure repair/docking schedules are maintained and set repair performance and expenditure targets and objectives are achieved

•   Make recommendations as appropriate to your Line manager regarding the replacement of plant, machinery and equipment and of any improvements to the repair activity process

•   Liaise with the Repair Project manager for estimates, quotations and hours for repair work ensuring that you and your team are fully in agreement with those estimates

•   Liaise with Procurement and stores department in a timely manner to enable any spare parts arrive in a timely fashion

•   Liaise with any resource contactor through your line manager for additional labour

•   Plan all repair activities on a daily basis in advance considering working hours, overtime, night shift w/ends etc. so that the programme is maintained

•   Check, control, confirm and return in a timely fashion your teams daily timesheets

•   Ensure daily operational meetings with client representatives

•   Coach and develop all team members so that skill levels are constantly developed, applied and maintained across the whole team.  

•   Manage your team but allow them to do their jobs.

•   Develop, set and implement, with support from other departments as required, performance targets within the team, through the appraisal system or any other that has been implemented by the business.

•   Ensure compliance with HSE statutory regulations, company HSE policies, procedures and safe working practices at all times

•   Attend weekly HSE meeting contributing appropriately

•   Compile technical information and produce technical and associated management reports as required

•   Ensure that vessels are repaired to the quality expected in line with technical specification and any national or international standards

•   Ø Review all relevant data of a completed repair project ensuring lessons are learned and implemented for continuous improvement

Qualifications and Experience:

•   Engineer Certificate

•   Mechanical eng. or demonstrated sound technical knowledge through experience

•   Shore base experience used to manage a fleet and a work shop

•   Experience of the offshore industry

•   Management skills, strong and attentive to his team

•   Shipbuilding/operation/technical knowledge

•   Very organized

•   Communication skills

•   Ability to work under pressure

•   Ability to work in multicultural environment

•   Fluency in English
