Delta SURE-P empowers 650 persons

Chairman, Transition Committee of Oshimili South Local Government in Delta State, Mrs. Monu Olarewaju,  says 650 persons have been trained under the Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme in the council.

The beneficiaries, she said, had received their starter packs to enable them to establish their businesses.

The LG boss, who spoke on Monday in Asaba, said  the SURE-P had enhanced women and widow's small businesses and empowered  youths with various skills.

The programme, she added,  had facilitated the issuance of cash grants to small/ medium scale entrepreneurs and financial assistance.

She said, "This project should be encouraged and jealously guarded, just as I urge the beneficiaries not to sell the empowerment items and the starter packs, but to use them to start small and grow big as envisaged by the Federal Government."
