Dolphins leading scorer, Fred Okwara is convinced they would continue with their impressive start to the second round of the league with a win against Akwa United on Saturday.
.
Okwara said the players are in high spirits following their 2-2 draw against Bayelsa United in Yenagoa, and reckons there would be no chance of an Akwa United upset at the Liberation Stadium.
.
"We are ready for Akwa United, and with the mood we're in at the moment it would be difficult for them to escape defeat in Port Harcourt," he said.
.
"It has now dawned on us that if we have to make an impact in the league, we have to start amassing the points from this stage.
.
"Though I didn't play against Bayelsa United, we meant business and they were lucky to have picked up a point.
.
"We took our chances well and we didn't play like the visiting side. We took the game to them.
.
"If we play with the same mentality against Akwa United, I see us winning comfortably."
.
The former Enugu Rangers and Adanaspor striker told supersport.com that Dolphins would perform a lot better in the concluding round of the league than they did in the earlier stages.
.
"I'm happy I joined Dolphins because we have a well-balanced team, and there are times I feel we could have done better in the first round.
.
"I have scored seven goals, but I also think the haul could have been a little better.
.
"The older players were a bit unsettled because of the money being owed them, but they have been assured it will be paid and hopefully this should lead to the start of a sustained challenge for the title," he said.
.
Okwara has scored seven goals in the league this season.
.
Dolphins are seventh in the Glo Premier League with 29 points from 20 matches, while Akwa United are way below in 18th position with 24 points from 19 matches.

I really feel something has to be done about our league...There are certain flops I still see in our matches and it's very disgraceful.
