After years of goalkeeping woes, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger seems to have his mind firmly set on solving them with Julio Cesar.
.
The QPR stopper has been linked with the Gunners since January, and the north Londoners are finally set to make their move for the Brazilian with a reported£1.5million bid in the offing.
.
Relegated Rangers are expected to accept the offer, with boss Harry Redknapp keen to get rid of Cesar's hefty £70,000-a-week wages.
.
Arsenal's current first-choice keeper Wojciech Szczesny seemed to have made the position his own in the last couple of years after the dark days of Manuel Almunia and Lukasz Fabianski.
.
But Wenger wants to add a goalkeeper of proven international quality to his squad as Arsenal bid to end their eight-year trophy drought.
.
And Cesar would certainly seem to fit the bill. He put in a number of impressive performances for the hapless Hoops last year, and emerged as one of the few players that went down with any credit.

Arsene Wenger is really serious about signing new players ahead of next season. Ceasar would be a good addition to his squad.
