FG Warns Contractors Over Delay In Road Projects

Minister of Works, Mr. Mike Onolememen, has warned contractors to desist from delaying execution and completion of road projects in the country.

Onolememen stated this while explaining to Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State the reason contract for Maiha- Sorau road project was terminated.

While updating the governor on the state of the project, the minister stated that contract for the road was awarded about six years ago, but lamented that for alleged incompetence of the contractor, the project was yet to be completed.

He, however, assured the governor that efforts were on to ensure that the project was awarded to another contractor with the requisite competence to deliver to standard, stressing that the project had reached procurement stage.

There should not be delays when it comes to projects like this...Whatever might be causing the delays must be taken away.
