Chelsea Snub Omeruo Again

The last may not have been heard about the real status of Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo, in the rank of Chelsea's superstars after the defender was snubbed yet again by coach Jose Mourinho in his 25-man squad list for the inaugural Guinness International Champions Cup billed to kick off in Miami, United States of America this week.

Omeruo was expected to return alongside his compatriot John Mikel Obi at Stamford Bridge after it was reported he was given an extended holiday following his participation at FIFA Confederations Cup, but the player who spent the last two seasons on loan at Dutch outfit, ADO Den Haag was not part of the six players that returned to Chelsea training to join their team-mates at the club's Cobham base ahead of the trip to USA.

Fernando Torres, Juan Mata, Cesar Azpilicueta, David Luiz,Mikel as well as Oscar who were not part of the Blues' recent Asian tour were all included in the squad that will travel to the states.While the likes of Josh McEachran, Nathaniel Chalobah, Lucas Piazon, Van Aanholt, Gael Kakuta and Thorgan Hazard will be going out on loan next season. Omeruo's fate is yet to be ascertained.

The former U-20 international has been impressive for the Super Eagles since making his debut against Cape Verde and soccer analysts have tipped him to be a strong part of Chelsea's new regime under Mourinho. Chelsea will play their first game in the competition in Indianapolis against Inter Milan on Thursday.
