Yobo, Efe Chase UCL Ticket

Super Eagles duo of skipper,Joseph Yobo and wing back, Efe Ambrose are expected to feature for their respective teams in today's UEFA Champions League third-round qualifying games.

Yobo's Fenerbahce play away to Salzburg, formerly known as Austria Salzburg, while Ambrose's Celtic host Swedish title holders Elfsborg at Parkhead in tonight's clash after they defeated Northern Irish side Cliftonville 5-0 on aggregate in the second-round qualifier.

Fenerbahce were earlier handed a two-year ban from all UEFA competitions after being accused of match- fixing but the Super Lig club appealed the decision and have been handed a lifeline by the recent ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) which upturned the decision. The final verdict that will determine the fate of the two teams (Fenerbahce and Besiktas) in their respective competitions will be reached on August 28 and 30 respectively.

Ambrose, who is reported to be attracting interest from the likes of Liverpool and Newcastle United in a recent interview admits that he has a lot to thank Celtic for.

"For me, the Premier League is where I would like to feature in the nearest future and you never know; but for now, I am only thinking about Celtic and doing my best for them," the Nigerian international told Sky Sports.

"The fans have been great for me, and they will be looking at me this season, but I know it isn't just about me and, although I have only been here 11 months, I know how important it is and what it means to be a Celtic player."

Although Celtic have lost two of their star players, the 2013 AFCON winner is confident that they can be replaced.

Joseph Yobo's team stand a better chance cos they have a good UCL reputation. He defends well for them so their defence is secured ....
