Library:

•   Principal Librarian

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

Principal Librarian

•   Candidates seeking appointment as Principal Librarian must possess a good first degree and a higher degree, preferably a Doctorate degree in library and Information Science.

•   In addition to having a minimum of 14 years' experience in a higher institution library, the candidate must possess advanced ICT skills and leadership qualities appropriate to a key learning resource centre in the information age.

•   The person must also be fully registered by the relevant professional body, the Librarians Registration Council of Nigeria.

•   In addition, the candidate must demonstrate a track record of academic publications in refereed journals as evidence of research activity.

Senior Librarian

•   Candidates seeking appointment as Senior Librarian must possess a good first degree and a higher degree, in Library and Information Science. The person must also be fully registered by the Librarians Registration Council of Nigeria.

•   In addition, the candidate must have some academic publications in refereed journals as evidence of research activity.

•   In addition to having a minimum of 9 years' experience in a higher institution library, the candidate must possess advanced ICT skills.

Librarian I

•   Candidates seeking appointment as Librarian I must possess a good first degree in Library and Information Science. In addition, the candidate must have some academic publications in refereed journals as evidence of research activity.

•   In addition to having a minimum of 5 years' experience in a higher institution library, the candidate must possess ICT skills.

Librarian II

•   Candidates seeking appointment as Librarian II must possess a good first degree in Library and Information Science. In addition to having a minimum of 3 years' experience in a higher institution library, the candidate must possess ICT skills.

Assistant Librarian

•   Candidates seeking appointment as Senior Librarian Officer must possess a High National Diploma in Library and Information Science. In addition to having a minimum of 2 years experience in a higher institution library, the candidate must possess ICT skills.

Library Officer

•   Candidates seeking appointment as Library Officer must possess a good National Diploma in Library and Information Science.

•   In addition, to having a minimum of 2 years' experience in a higher institution library, the candidate must possess ICT skills.
