Tottenham Hotspur's record signing Roberto Soldado pledged on Tuesday to score a hatful of goals and help the club qualify for the Champions League.
.
The 28-year-old striker, who scored 80 goals in 145 games for Valencia, signed a four-year deal worth a reported 26 million pounds on Monday.
.
"Spurs is a great club and a club that deserves to be in the Champions League," the Spain striker told Spurs TV.
.
"I know it's a hard league and we have to work and play to that level to get there and I will do my best for the team."
.
"My main aim is to get that No 1 striker shirt on the pitch and obviously, to score goals and try to get us into the Champions League, where we deserve to be."
.
Soldado, who has 11 caps for Spain, said he was looking forward to playing an attractive brand of football under manager Andre Villas-Boas.
.
"I love playing in a team like that, a team that holds onto the ball and then attacks," he said.
.
"It's Andre's style and it's good for the fans to see that football and for the team as well."

Tottenham Hotspur is not a club is that is based on just one player so Soldado can't achieve this task alone...He'll need his other player's support.
