Our client, a strong local company with diversified interests ranging from paints to mining and steel seeks to grow and expand its business through the appointment of experienced professionals into the role of Geologist.

Reports to: The Managing Director

Responsibilities:

You will be mainly responsible for assessing and analysing geological data in order to advise on short-term and long-term mine production plans. In this capacity, you will:

•    Conduct surveys and interprete geological data in order to inform drilling and production procedures

•    Ensure all procedures adhere to health and safety regulations and pit mapping

•    Liaise with a range of experts including other geologists, engineers, metallurgy experts and mine workers

•    Produce written reports and Keep up to date with current geological research

JOB REQUIREMENTS

•    Education: Degree-qualified in Geology.

•    Minimum of 3 years experience gained from multinationals and other reputable organizations

•    Proven leadership skills with strong business acumen

•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to interact with people from various levels in the organization

•    Demonstrate strength in problem solving, defining needs and initiating action to achieve goals

•    Mature, resourceful and self-driven with a strong sense of commitment

•    Proficient in computer application
