Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has at last revealed that he will remain at the club - and that he made his mind up a 'while ago'.

The Uruguayan was subject to a £40million plus £1 bid from Arsenal earlier in the summer, and publicly expressed his desire to leave Merseyside in search of Champions League football.

But after Brendan Rodgers and the Liverpool hierarchy rejected the bid and insisted he wasn't for sale for such a price, Suarez has now accepted his fate.

The striker said, after landing in Uruguay ahead of the international break: 'I closed this subject a while ago. I have already taken the decision to stay at Liverpool.
