New Date For Tunisian League

The Tunisian government, the Football Federation and the association of club presidents have finally reached an agreement to fix a date for the kickoff of the new football season after multiple postponements due to security and financial reasons.

September 15 was chosen by all parties to inaugurate the new season, but with only four matches following the participation of a couple of Tunisian clubs in the Caf Champions League and the Confederation Cup.

The first leg games have been scheduled to conclude by January 5, 2014 while the return leg fixtures will commence three weeks after, to end the season on May 18.

Title holders CS Sfaxien have qualified to the semi- finals of the Caf Confederation Cup.

The league is really improving so I must commend Tunisia for starting it in the first place. It makes a lot of sense!
