44^th National Council of Information meeting holds in Oshogbo, Osun State from 25^th to 27^th September, 2013 with the Theme:  "Social Media and Public Information Management."

Updates on the decisions agreed at the 43^rd Meeting of the National Council of Information (NCI) is expected to be deliberated upon at the upcoming 44^th edition of the meeting to hold in Oshogbo, Osun State from Tuesday, 25^th to 27^th September, 2013.

The NCI will be chaired by the Minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku who will also present a number of memoranda for consideration by this August policy making body for public information management in Nigeria.

The NCI will also deliberate on proposals made through Council memoranda, considered and accepted by all members to guide the conduct of public information management in Nigeria.

Composition of the National Council of Information:

The National Council of Information comprises of the Minister of Information, Commissioners  in charge of Information in the States, Directors of Information in the Federal Ministry of Information supported by others in the Secretariat of the Council who will meet from Tuesday, 25^th to 27^th September, 2013 to deliberate on proposals made through Council memoranda to be considered by members.

The NCI may consider journalism education in its broad sense, but above all, the use of social media to enhance information reach, especially to the youths of Nigeria, and also will consider information in the service of agricultural reforms and other sectoral achievements of the present administration.
