Plateau State governor, Jonah Jang, yesterday approved N7.9 billion for the completion of ongoing projects across the three senatorial districts of the state. He said the approval became necessary in order to ensure that every project embarked upon by the state is completed before the end of his administration in 2015.

The approval was given during an emergency state executive council meeting chaired by the Deputy Governor, Mr. Ignatius Longjan. Briefing journalists shortly after the meeting, Commissioner for Information and Communication, Abraham Yiljap, said N300 million was also approved for the Plateau State Muslim Welfare Board for the 2013 hajj.

According to him; "The council deliberated on the welfare and the security of the people of the state and how to promote good governance and ensure that the redemption agenda of Governor Jang remains on course just as promised. "The government is working very hard to ensure that no projects are abandoned at the end of the tenure of this administration.

"We are also working to make sure that the spiritual obligations of our people are taking care off. In this wise, council has approved N300 million for this yeas pilgrimage to Mecca. "This is one way of building the spiritual and moral capacity of the people of Plateau State to remain peaceful and truthful to help them pray for life hereafter."
