PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES:

•   SAP is the Trusted Advisor for the Energy and Natural Resources Industry. Oil & Gas, Mining & Metals, Utilities and Chemicals are strategic industries and Africa is a key market for SAP with extraordinary perspectives for growth.

•   The Energy and Natural Resources Services Hub Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA) started in January 2008 and was founded to help SAP maximize the value for our customers of this industry sector in the region with a comprehensive consulting and education services portfolio, allowing for effective knowledge sharing across borders, creating a win-win situation for all constituents. In order to achieve our ambitious targets and objectives, we are currently looking for a Manager for the Center of Expertise (CoE) Africa – Energy and Natural Resources to lead and mentor a team with strong industry and SAP solution expertise and know-how.

•   Reinforce the SAP account teams in Africa in understanding business requirements, translating them into SAP based solutions and roadmaps, innovating the services approach as necessary, and creating a winning proposition for SAP products and services in the industry market-place.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS:

•   Business and utilization responsibility for the consulting unit

•   Shape and mentor a team with strong industry and solution expertise, knowledge management, and delivery capability

•   Grow the Energy and Natural Resources business and the services team in Africa

•   Drive excellence in Services for the African and the EMEA Energy and Natural Resources market and ensure a focused portfolio leveraging synergies of the combined markets of Oil & Gas, Primary Metals & Mining and Utilities, driven effectively through the MU Africa and positioned, sold and delivered in line with our strategic vision

•   Support market development activities jointly with software sales and Industry Principals;

•   position services; support the solution build process with Service Account Managers and Bid teams; and deliver high value services and deep industry expertise to our customers, all while embracing a culture of personal and professional growth

•   Seek active collaboration with the Industry solution management, Industry Value Engineering (IVE), Service Portfolio Management, Regional and MU Services competencies, Custom

•   Development, Global Delivery, Business Transformation Services and other industry and solution hubs (Analytics, PIO, BTS, DTS, etc.) to enhance the Go-to-Market and provide a unitary face to customer engagements

•   Live Industry Thought Leadership – Act as an industry business process expert and chief solution architect – Identify and map customer needs into the product and services landscape – engage with the services organization to create winning proposals

•   Be a Trusted Advisor and focus on Customer Satisfaction – Build credibility and trust with our customers and prospects – take ownership of the delivery from proposal to implementation and Go-Live; provide effective oversight for multiple customer engagements primarily working through various field services teams on solution and deployment strategy

•   Development of business opportunities in the industry areas across accounts, growing the pipeline, leading to revenue growth and market share increase; also, identify new service opportunities (engineered / innovation), facilitate creation of business cases, deployment of these services in the market – with definitive revenue targets as per business case

•   Good knowledge of the market and socio-cultural conditions

•   Your role is a customer-facing role and you carry a balanced personal utilization target

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES;

•   Graduate / Post-Graduate degrees in Business Administration or Engineering areas

•   Certified / Trained in SAP IS-Oil & Gas product areas with minimum 5 end-to-end project

•   experience (industry experience may compensate to some extent for lack of as many end-to-end project experience)

•   Good knowledge of the SAP for Oil&Gas and/or Utilities solution framework and industry solution areas

•   Adept at handling project communications, capable of having C-level interactions and engaging with senior management stake-holders, managing expectations and proposing value-based offerings

•   Strong presentation and communication skill set necessary – ability to comprehend business requirements and create a strong value for the proposed solution architecture

•   Negotiation skills – communications/presentation skills (oral, written) – team

•   player/interpersonal skills – proactive networking attributes – results and execution focus – high drive, self-starter/-motivated – leadership ability – entrepreneurship – global mobility

•   Fluent in English and optionally in another official African language, i.e. Portuguese, French

WORK EXPERIENCE: Minimum 8-10 years of experience – with strong knowledge of Industry business processes and SAP solution landscape; experience in pre-sales / sales / customer-facing role preferred; the incumbent must be able to engage with C-level executives and gain their trust and confidence in architecting the solution approach and delivery model; exposure to global / large regional industry customers is preferred
