Sone Aluko declared himself 'happy' after scoring his first ever Barclays Premier League goal to fire Hull City to a memorable 3-2 victory at Newcastle United at the weekend.
.
While most raved about the technical brilliance of Aluko's volley 13 minutes from time, the striker was the calmest man around when summing up his feelings.
.
"It was a good goal," said Aluko.
.
"Boydy did well on the left, although I didn't think he had seen me to be fair. But he cut it back really well and I just had to concentrate on getting a good contact. When it hit the post, it seemed to take an eternity to go in but I'm happy it went in, happy with the result and it turned out to be a winning goal.
.
"All of the pace was on the ball to be fair, so I just had to control it onto the target. If I'd tried to 'leather' it, it would have gone out of the stadium!" Aluko's wonderful strike added to earlier goals from Robbie Brady and Ahmed Elmohamady as the Tigers came from behind twice to claim their first away win of the season and Aluko was delighted with the victory.
