The inter-boundary feud between the Adadama community in Abi Local Government Area and their neigbours in Ebonyi State  needs a permanent solution to enable them have access to their farm lands as well as live in peace with one another.

Governor Liyel Imoke of Cross River State stated this while addressing a cross section of the community at the palace of the Lezekpakor of Adadama, Oval Fidelis Addu Ikoh, saying that the age long feud has not been properly managed and needs a permanent solution.

Imoke observed that it is an important issue which must be understood because by going to court it will linger for a while, adding that a quick solution will save lives and create access to farm lands because the story from the other side of the conflict is equally gory.

The governor said both states believe it should be well managed and that the visit was to build confidence to enable them find a peaceful solution.

Meanwhile, according to him, government intends to rehabilitate displaced communities, aggrieved families, strengthen security presence, build access road as well as site projects there while assuring that he and his colleague from Ebonyi State will visit them to sign agreement, register it and enforce it for the interest of the parties.

He therefore appealed to the youths and elders of the area to be united for the benefit of all and advised those involved in farming not to do so beyond the buffer zone as government intends to review military action to strengthen the security situation there.

Earlier, the community in its welcome address intimated the governor of attacks on them by their neigbours from Ebonyi State in which lives were lost and property destroyed and therefore appealed for a permanent solution.

They requested for an expansion of the police post, establishment of a military base at the border area, road network, and financial assistance to the families of the victims, provision of pipe borne water and electricity as well as the completion of Adadama market, town hall and school.
