Job Description:

•   The individual will be part of the EMC IT Backup and Recovery Group supporting more than 450 EMCs internal applications including Oracle ERP, CRM, Data Warehousing and many more customer applications including SAP, Exchange, Oracle, etc.

•   The candidates will get an opportunity to learn and work with most of the EMC flagship hardware and software products are used like EMC Networker, Data Domain, Avamar and Data Protection Advisor and learn the internals of the environment.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•   Ensure that all services are consistently available to the business customers;

•   Assist in the development of tools and procedures for better system management;

•   Maintain backup schedule;

•   Complete proactive and preventive system upgrades;

•   Perform deployment of new clients to the existing infrastructure;

•   Responsible for assisting in the build of a replicated archiving infrastructure;

•   Monitor and troubleshoot the technical environment for problems;

•   Responsible for completing small to large backup requests.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

•   Certifications and experience in UNIX, Linux, or Windows operating systems and network communications experience;

•   Working experience with EMC Backup and Recovery solutions (EMC Networker, Data Domain, Avamar and Data Protection Advisor);

•   Possess general knowledge of backup solutions;

•   Ability to communicate effectively and work in a cohesive global team

•   Problem solving skills.

•   Ability to effectively work in a matrix environment.

•   Ability to multi-task and read appropriate diagrams or blueprints.

•   Ability to work effectively with senior management.
