Job Title: Managing Director – Steel Division

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Employer: Leading Manufacturing and Trading Company

Core Business/Activities/Products: Manufacturing of Corrugated Zinc Roofing Sheets, ERW Mild Steel Tubes, Steel Mesh, and MS Wire & Nails.

Position reports to: Group CEO.

Summary: Person will be responsible to maximize sales for the entire range of steel products with the informal trade channel at the given market price without breaching the credit limits & keeping stock levels low to avoid piling financial costs while ensuring Zero stock-outs and Zero bad debts. The person will be part of the Steel Division.  Will need to manage a team of Regional Sales Managers, Production & Maintenance Managers under him.

Key Objectives:

•   Present a Sales & Distribution Strategy

•   Complete competitor analysis and set targets for the sales team to re-capture market share

•   Achieve sales for steel division ,roofing, pipe

•   Conduct Major Customers' Forum

•   Handle all administrative responsibilities and coordination with government bodies to ensure the plant functions smoothly and is compliant with Nigeria regulations.

•   Present feasibility for launch of new products into the market

Ideal Industry background: Candidate must have sales experience in Africa in the building material industry with a background in  Production. Experience in Steel industry and in Nigeria is highly desirable.

Ideal Age range and Educational background:

•   Age Range: 40-48 years

•   Educational background (preferably metallurgical or mechanical): An engineer with an MBA with computer literacy and the ability to understand and use the full fleet of MS Office products (Word, Power Point, Excel etc.) is a must.
