The new Special Task Force Commander (STF) in Plateau State, David Eniete has vowed to work closely with the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) to get rid of illegal immigrants in the State.

David Eniete made the vow recently when he paid a courtesy visit on the Plateau State Comptroller of Immigration, Audu Gambo Wuyep in his office at the Federal Secretariat Complex, Jos.

He however, commended the Comptroller for the synergy which has existed between the two organisations in the State. He stated: "I have been informed of the excellent work you have been doing towards curbing illegal immigrants in the State and I promise to maintain that strong relationship to make peace return permanently to Plateau State."

He espoused his absolute dependence on the Immigration Service for intelligent gathering on vital information concerning operations in the Plateau region for collective achievement of their goals. "A lot has been done by my predecessor including you and we still have much to do. We would not relent, but would continue to maintain the existing momentum," the new STF Commander assured.

Responding on behalf of the Comptroller General of Immigration, the Plateau State Comptroller of Immigration, Audu Gambo Wuyep welcomed the new STF Commander and his entourage, stressing that there has been a long standing cordial relationship between them and the military. He commended the officers of the STF saying he should be aware about the mutual relationship in existence between the Immigration and the Command. He averred that on several occasions, military field officers during official duties have intercepted suspicious persons whose nationalities were doubtful.

According to him, these kinds of suspects have promptly been referred to the Immigration Office, some of whom identified to be prohibited immigrants were deported out of Nigeria.
