Efe Ambrose suspects that Barcelona superstar Neymar succeeded in a mission to get one of Celtic's players sent off in Tuesday night's Champions League clash at Parkhead.
.
Scott Brown was sent packing for kicking out at the Brazilian winger after an hour of a pulsating clash that Barca went on to win 1-0, leaving Celtic stranded at the foot of the table.
.
Nigerian Ambrose believes Brown was treated harshly and while he admires Neymar's talent, he admitted the £50million summer signing from Santos may have made the most of the incident.
.
The defender said: "Neymar is a star. But nobody knows – maybe it was in his mind to get one of our players sent off.
.
"That is football and there is nothing we can say that will change the decision. The referee gave the red card and it helped them because it upset our game plan.
.
"Playing them 11 v 11 is difficult and with a man down it is even more difficult. They got their chance and took it. We had a couple of chances before they scored but we didn't take them.
.
"We held them well and did fine defensively.
.
"We will learn from this as a team. We are not individuals, we are a team.
.
"We are one unit and we need to concentrate on Motherwell next and then Ajax."
.
The centre-back insists his team must learn from their experience and keep their heads in the heat of battle.
