WYG International has been shortlisted for the project "TA Service Contract for Implementation of Support to Federal Governance Reform Programme in Five Federal Agencies in Abuja, Nigeria". The project has the objective of contributing to poverty reduction in Nigeria through promotion of public sector policy and efficiency in public service administration in order to enhance service delivery. Please see below the ToR.

We are currently seeking a Statistical Institutional and Organisational Expert (660 working days over 36 months)  to join us for this tender. The Statistical Institutional and Organisational Expert is expected to have to meet the following criteria in qualifications and experience:

Requirements:

Qualifications and skills:

•   Advanced University Degree (MSc/MA/PHD) in Statistics or directly related discipline. First University Degree in Statistics or directly related discipline with at least 12 years working experience with public sector institutions on management and development of statistics may be considered in lieu of the advanced degree;

•   Excellent fluency in both written and spoken English;

•   Proficiency/certificate in basic computer programmes (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint Internet browsing) and SPSS as well as other statistical software;

General professional experience:

•   Minimum 7 years professional experience with public sector institutions on management and development of statistics including a demonstrated in-depth experience in the development and implementation of government's Statistics Master Plan Strategy;

•   Working experience in Sub-Saharan Africa would be an advantage.

Specific professional experience:

•   Minimum 4 years working experience in any or combination of the following fields:

•   Survey design, data analysis, processing and dissemination;

•   Statistical service organizational set-up including networking systems for seamless flow of data, ITC networks and website design;

•   Training of personnel on statistical planning and generation; and in institutional ICT capacity assessment;

•   Revision and upgrade of the compendium Statistical term, concepts, definition and methodology for data harmonization activities would be an advantage.
