NSF: Minister to set up C/River 2014 MOC

The Minister of Sports, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, will on Thursday inaugurate the Main Organising Committee (MOC) of the 19th National Sports Festival scheduled to hold in Cross River State next year. National Mirror was informed yesterday that Inauguration of the MOC would take place in the Media Centre at the National Stadium Complex, Abuja at 2pm.

The MOC will be chaired by Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye, the Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC).

The 19th National Sports festival will be hosted by Cross River State and will not be restricted by number of appearances and age of athletes.

Meanwhile, the Minister, who is also Chairman of the NSC has urged the Golden Eaglets to remain focused and prosecute their match against Iran today with the same zeal and determination which saw them lead their group in the first round of games in the on-going FIFA Under 17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirate.

"I am really impressed with their performance so far. These boys are a delight to watch and have shown that they have got what it takes to make impact in the championship," Abdullahi said.
