 The Ogun state governor Senator Ibikunle Amosun has assured citizens of the State that his administration will not leave any of the on-going projects uncompleted, in its quest to restore the State to its enviable position as 'primus inter pares' among States in Nigeria.     Governor Amosun gave this assurance at a town-hall meeting on the 2014 budget, at the June 12, Cultural Centre, Abeokuta.     "We shall remain focused and unwavering in our mission to make positive impact in the lives of our people. Let me assure you that this Administration will not leave any of the on-going projects uncompleted. "All our actions and efforts in the past 29 months have been channelled towards the realisation of this great vision."     He said the present administration has been able to demonstrate that its ‘mission to rebuild’ is not just another government propaganda but an elaborate master plan to bring about socio-economic progress in the state.     Governor Amosun noted that in the face of serious challenges, occasioned by dwindling resources from the federation account, the government has remained resolute in its commitment to the successful implementation of its 5-point agenda, through provision of basic infrastructure.     "We have no iota of doubt that we are on course,we shall surely deliver on our promises, we have been able to record some remarkable achievements this year, and we are poised to further consolidate on these in the 2014 Financial Year. " Amosun said.     While acknowledging the support and cooperation of citizens and residents in the realisation of government programmes, he noted that his administration will continue to carry all stakeholders along in the implementation of its programmes.     He said ‘the essence of this assembly is to enable us jointly define our priorities and collectively articulate our development agenda for the 2014 financial year and that is why we have invited all stakeholders, so that they can have their input in the next year's budget estimates"     Governor Amosun promised that contributions and suggestions at the town-hall meeting shall be put into consideration in the preparation of the 2014 budget.     During the interactive session with stakeholders at the meeting, the governor explained that efforts to engage the youth in agriculture are already yielding positive results with a lot of the unemployed presently engaged on the various farm settlements across the State. On the request for the construction of more roads, he said that every part of the State will witness even development, as plans are underway to construct more roads and modern hospitals across the State.     Speaking on environmental cleanliness, Governor Amosun advised residents of the state not to drop their refuse and body wastes in public and open spaces, as this can lead to environmental and health hazards. He urged them to always dispose of their wastes properly into refuse bins.     In her welcome address, the commissioner for budget and planning, Mrs Yewande Muoyo said the town-hall meeting is to deliberate on matters bordering on the development of Ogun State with all stakeholders, in order to prepare a robust budget for the year 2014.     She said the 2013 budget has achieved a lot in the area of infrastructural development, health, road construction, agricultural and educational development among others.     The town hall meeting on the 2014 budget had in attendance several groups including professional bodies, traders, artisans, market men and women, traditional rulers, Community Development Associations, students and many others.

So far, The state has been doing fantastic. The government has done certain things even the indigens did not expect.
