Healthcare Providers Task NAFDAC On Safe Medicines

KEY PLAYERS in the healthcare sector; notably hygiene and healthcare, have harped on the need for Nigeria to take a cue for accelerated development of medicines that is relevant to Nigerians and Africans as a whole.

In line with this, the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control, NAFDAC, has been tasked to reduce complexities in product requirements so that Nigerian consumers can access the cheapest and most effective medical solutions.

The regulatory body must also correct the incidence of parallel import especially in the area of importing goods that are already listed and registered in Nigeria.

Noting this at the Reckitt Benckiser/University of Ibadan International conference tagged; "Medicine Regulation of Claims" under the auspices of the Centre for Drug Discovery, Development and Production (CDDDP), the experts advocated establishment of partnerships that would promote better Director -General, NAFDAC, Dr, Paul Orhii, challenged companies to emulate such core values and commitment towards development of safer medicines in Africa.
