The Senate President, Senator David mark, has said that the successor of the Ondo State Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, must build on the enviable achievements of the present administration.

Mark gave this admonition on yesterday in Ondo during  a public lecture and book launch entitled- An Evolution of Ondo Kingdom over  500 years- to celebrate the 60th birthday and 7th coronation anniversary of the Osemawe of Ondo, Oba Victor Adesimbo Kiladejo.

The Senate president, who had earlier been conducted round the trauma centre and the mother and child hospital in Ondo by the Health Commissioner, Dr Dayo Adeyanju, commended the governor for the landmark achievement recorded in the health sector.

He said, "I was at the hospital built by the governor today and one thing that I observed is that the common smell that is characteristic of hospital is not there. When I was walking round the hospital, there was no odour. I found it difficult to call it a medical village. I thought we've been going round some hotel accommodation or 5-star hotel accommodation".

He added, "Other people should come here and see how much the governor and his team have put together to change the healthcare system in this state and by extension in the country. Whoever succeeds you must build on the solid foundation you have laid and I want to say that your success is hinged on the prayers and support of the good people of Ondo state."

Mark also commended Oba Kiladejo for the unprecedented transformation recorded during his reign. In his remarks, Mimiko thanked the Senate President for honouring the community. He described him as a humble and patriotic Nigerian whose priority is solely to develop the nation and ensure peaceful co-existence of all Nigerians.
