The panel of inquiry set up by President Goodluck Jonathan to unravel the issues surrounding the alleged purchase of two armoured cars for Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah, at a cost of N255 million is expected to round off and turn in its report this week.

The embattled minister was present at the Federal Executive Council, FEC, last week, few days after facing the heat from the members of the House of Representatives' Committee on Aviation who are also probing the purchase of the armoured cars bought for her by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA. She was absent at the meeting of the Council held on October 23, the day the three-man presidential panel headed by former Head of Service of the Federation, Alhaji Isa Bello Sali, was announced.

Oduah had travelled to Israel ahead of the arrival of the President in Israel for pilgrimage and bilateral talks with the Israeli government.

Other members of the panel include the National Security Adviser (NSA), Colonel Sambo Dasuki (rtd) and Air Vice Marshal Dick Iruenaberi (rtd). The panel was given two weeks to submit report.

When Oduah appeared at the House public hearing on the purchase of the armoured cars last week, the minister said that she approved purchase of the cars but denied that they were bought for her.

Let us just hope that this case will end at last because it is taking too long already and we don't know where it is heading
