Cross River State - Hospitality Department Trainees Get Certification

Cross River State Tourism Bureau (CRSTB) and the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI,) in confirmation of the process of certifying hotel workers in the State have commenced the issuance of International Hospitality Certificates to participants of the Cascade Training Program me at the Conference Hall of CRSTB.

Mr. Michael Williams, the Managing Director of the Bureau who was represented by Miss Patricia Ogon, General Manager Corporate Services, said in a presentation that his heart was filled with joy as they certified the trainees.

According to him, they, in CRSTB believe in training manpower and implored the Trainees to take the knowledge and exposure the training has instilled in them back to their various establishments.

He said the purpose of the training was to elevate and improve standards in the industry in Cross River State and Nigeria in general, adding that the decision to give the trainees International Certification was to raise standards to comply and align with world class standards.

Responding, Mr. Oyore Justin on behalf of the trainees, thanked CRSTB for the gesture, emphasizing that they were glad at the award of the Certificates from the State and promised that they will be good ambassadors of the Bureau by spreading the knowledge passed onto them and putting it to use so as to abide by the principles of world-class standards in the hospitality business.

The Bureau gave the certificates to eight persons. They were Mr. Adeyemi Micheal, Mr. Amakop Edet, Esua  Abanga  Williams and Mr. Idiong John.

Others were Mr. Inyang Emmanuel, Mr. Ori Roberts, Miss Inyang Linda and Mr Oyore Justin, Miss Yetunde Ugun, Personal Assistant to the Governor on Tourism Matters and Miss Patricia Ogon General Manager Corporate Services of CRSTB.

Hospitality department is always important in any state so this is a good step in the right direction.
